Wire rope is an important part of the aerial gondola. Whether the quality and subsequent maintenance of wire rope is good or not have a direct impact on the security of suspended platform.
The wire rope of suspended working platform is always coated with zinc .And it adopts the blade connection structure which has many characteristics such as large load, long lifetime ,high strength, small diameter tolerance, and more flexible.

Before using
Wire ropes are generally packed in spools from the factory. During the transportation it should be handled carefully and avoid to damage to packing and moisture and rain are strictly prohibited. And it should be stored in dry and ventilated room.
Began to use
When started, the wire rope should be turned the wheel back and note the direction of the discharge line , to avoid additional stress.
In Construction site, we should pay attention to the through direction of the wire rope, to avoid additional applications force and bending.
In storage and transportation, the wire rope should be tied into a disc in diameter of 60cm and do not place any heavy objects on it to avoid bending or partly squashed defects .
After the installation, the redundant wire rope at the lower end should be tied into a disc and make it from the ground about 20cm.
Always check the surface of wire rope and clean the dirt attached such as paint , cement, jelly , etc. , to detect and remove the trends of partial defects on time.
If there are partical damage on Rope clamp,the head of rope should be cut off and re fix again.
For long-term storage ,wire rope should be placed in dry and from rainning places.
For appearing broken wire rope silk and not arrive the scrap standard,the wire rope silk should be promptly inserted into the head of the broken wire rope core .
For ones reaching retirement standard, we should replace them in time .
The retirement for wire rope should match the Standards GB5972.And as one of the following conditions the wire rope must be scrapped immediately.
( 1 ) Between a length of 6d (d- rope diameter ) ,there are more than 5 broken wires or Between a length of 30d ,there are more than 10 broken wires.
( 2 ) broken wires partial aggregation. When broken wires gathered in less than 6d length range , or concentrated in any one strand within , even if the number of broken wires smaller than the broken wire values should also be scrapped.
( 3 ) a serious kink , severe bending , flattening , fly outside the wire rope core extrusion and broken stocks and so on.
( 4 ) Rope diameter is decreased by 7 %.
( 5 ) surface wear or corrosion of the wire is over 40 % of diameter of the surface wire silk.Or wire rope significantly harden.
( 6 ) damage due to overheating or arcing .
 1.Wire rope silk out,should be retired. |  2.One strand of wire rope is squeezed,should be retired. |

 3.The diameter of strand for wire rope is smaller than normal.It should be retired. |  4.Strand of wire rope is squeezed out and twisted,should be retired. |

 7.Be twisted on reversed direction,should be retired. |  8.A little twisted,should be checked,reduce load or retired. |
 9.Cage deformed,should be retired. |  10.Outside deterioration,should be lubricated,and check. |
 11.The strand of wire ropes is sunk,should be retired.. |  12.Wire breaking of the wire rope.If there are two breaks between a pitch,or 10% broken,it should be retired. |
 13.The internal strand is out,should be retired. |
Some notes for using wire ropes for suspended working platform:
1.The head of wire rope must be processed, and during that time it should be in a relaxed state without stress carried.Below are pre-processing and post-processing images.

2.Note the type of twining
The type(above) of twisting rope shown above can cause deformation.
And the best way is to put the disk-shaped wire rope vertically hanging on the wall which can prevent damage to the rope by the aerial objects fallen. Or sometimes the wire rope can get damage.
3.The end of safety rope must use hammer.
The above approach has caused severe deformation.
The correct approach is using a clamp to connect a hammer with the bottom of the wire rope.
